My week in a nutshell

Man! I missed you guys!

Last week was absolutely crazy.

I have so much to tell you about.

Let’s do it!

I took 1/2 of Wednesday off to meet my family for a surprise birthday party for my mom.

(Sister, Mom and I)

It was a fantastic day and she was actually very surprised, which was awesome!

On Thursday, I laid around like a lazy person and binge watched “Making a Murderer” on Netflix.

Have you seen it?

If you haven’t, I highly recommend it!

I met two fellow bloggers on Friday for a shakeout run at a local sports recovery shop (Moore Sports Recovery).

Meet Heather, who blogs at and Fallon from… I’m in the middle.

They are both awesome runners and great blogger friends.

As you can see, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and tested out their Normatec Compression machine!

The machine is pretty cool and will be SUPER helpful when I start getting in some higher mileage.

Don’t be jealous of how cool I look, by the way.

On Saturday, I decided to hire a running coach!

Michelle is a running coach from Canada and she comes highly recommended from other bloggers/peeps in the social media world.

So, I had to jump on it.

(She is on the left)

She has over 30 years of running experience and has raced every distance from 800M to 80km. She won the Boston to Big Sur challenge in 2013 and Northface trail Marathon in San Francisco. She is also a certified personal trainer, injury management specialist, yoga instructor.

My 2 biggest goals for 2016 is to lose an additional 30 lbs and beat my current Half Marathon PR of 1:57.

I obviously want to get back there without getting injured, so I have asked a professional for help!

I’m so excited!

And Sunday was of course another SundayRunday.

Heather and I looked super fast in our ProCompression socks.

Love those suckers.

We did lots of stretching and some strength training.

Yes, you heard that right.

Β I said strength training…

Remember how I hired a coach?

Well… she likes strength training.

So, I do strength training now.

Did I mention that I met 5,000M Olympic hopeful Jordan Hasay?

Oh well… I did.

Β Obviously, she asked me for some running tips and we went our for coffee.
Oh wait… that was a dream.
I tried to not act like a 12 year old Bieberfan when she walked in the room…
But let’s be honest here, people, when it comes to “famous” runners…

I AM a 12 year old Bieberfan.

I’ll be eager to hear how it goes with a coach! And how nice that you could actually meet and run with part of this group! Another Atlanta blogger and I have tentative plans to meet at a race.

Awesome compression machine, I’d fancy a go of one of those! Good luck with your new coach and hope it goes well. No doubt someone with experience like that will be full of good advice and tips. Looking forward to reading all about it πŸ™‚

Looks like you had a fantastic week. Way to go! Can’t wait to hear how things progress with your running coach. If you’re looking for a super funny read about someone else who hired a coach, I just finished reading Living with a SEAL by Jesse Itzler and it was pretty crazy. I sure hope your coach isn’t as tough as SEAL.
