Because Runners are AWESOME!
But that is not the point…
Yesterday was a ROUGH day for me.
I mean rough.
This was me yesterday.
By the end of the day…
I was SO ready to go home.
Because I had too much work to do.
But, I made myself go for a run right at 5 PM
and felt like a MILLION BUCKS when I got back to work.
I worked for another hour and a half.
And I rocked it.
Which made me realize how running really helps my work productivity.

5 Ways Running Makes Me (and You) a Better Employee
1. It Improves my mood!
The old saying, “The better you feel, the better you do” is totally applicable to everything in life, especially my job. Running definitely make me feel better, even if I had a bad day (like yesterday).
2. It Makes me stronger!
Running obviously makes my body stronger, but pushing myself day in and day out makes me feel mentally stronger as well. This mental strength spills over into my work life. I always tell myself “I have run a marathon! I can totally do this!”.
3. Running increases my energy!
Running almost always (except for after long runs) gives me the boost I need to take on my work life. When my energy tank is full, I do my best work.
4. It enhances my ability to focus!
As with my day yesterday, I always feel much more focused and centered after a run. Not surprisingly, research backs this up and has proven that exercise like running boosts cognitive performance and improves memory.
5. Running boosts my self-esteem!
Running is definitely a part of who I am. I am proud of what I have accomplished in the 7 years I have been a runner. Running makes me feel good about myself! This self-esteem allows me to be more confident in who I am both as a person and as an employee at work.
These 5 points (in addition to about 10 billion other points) are on the list of “Why Running Rocks”.
