I think that life is trying to pay me back for rubbing it in your faces that the weather here is so amazing…
because over the last few days, it has been ridiculously hot.
I took this picture in my car on Saturday.
Yes, that says 104 degrees.
Did I mention that we don’t have air conditioners here in SLO?
I was melting.
Dude… I hate the heat.
To cool myself down a little, I decided to have a protein shake for breakfast.
This was a great idea!
Well, I pulled that delicious stuff out and got creative.
I added some unsweetened cocoa, to make it more like a mocha.
Here is my
famous not famous recipe:
Choco’ Kickstart Protein Shake
2 scoops CLICK protein powder
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
4 oz coconut milk
1 frozen banana
2 oz water
I threw it in a Jamba Juice tumbler to make it look a little fancier.
It was so good!
Fortunately, my mom decided to come into town and let me stay at her beach house….
which a 20 minute drive from SLO.
The weather in Grover Beach is usually 15 or so degrees cooler because its right on the beach.
It was wonderful.
I went out for a 12 miler on Sunday at about 8:30 am…
Scabbed knees and all!
I normally zone out on long runs and don’t think about much, so I didn’t really feel the pain.
This is one of the reasons I really love running by myself.
I get to just stop my brain for a few hours.
I felt really good, which was a nice change from last Sunday’s long run.
After an ice bath,
my mom and I went to go see World War Z in 3D!
It was my first 3D movie.
I LOVED IT!
It was really nice to spend some time with my mom (she is pretty cool),
and avoiding the heat was nice too.
