I am the tortise, not the hare.

the-tortoise-and-the-hareComing back from an injury is rough business, people.

As I mentioned on Monday, the first run SUCKED. Big time.

Yesterday was not so bad, and today was not bad either.

But, I am still missing the connection that I feel when I am in shape.

and let’s be honest people…

the Runner’s high rocks!I am learning to appreciate where I am today, regardless of how behind in my training I feel.

I am trying to take it one day at a time and not overload myself.

I have run 3 miles, three days in a row.

3 weeks ago, I would have put in 17 or so miles in by Wednesday.

This week I am at 9.

But, I RAN!

I have accepted my turtle mentality and am just thankful that I can do it!

On another note,

Yesterday’s Daily Inspiration from my Runner’s World desk calendar talked about dog runners and cat runners. So I thought it would be fun to do something different today!

I am going to do a poll!

Dog runners are people who like to run with others and socialize.

Cat runners are those who like to run alone.

So the question is, are you a dog runner or a cat runner?

Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! I wanna know!

I am a dog runner. When I run solo, I feel like I can shut it down whenever I feel like it. In a group, I am pushed to work harder.

I would kill for 3 miles right now, I can barely do 30 seconds without pain. Can’t wait to get to do 3!! You’re killing it, 9 miles for the week is better than none šŸ™‚

I’m a cat runner, but I want to be a dog runner so bad!! It’s like, the pitiful puppy wagging its tail at the window kind of thing, but I like my lone runs too, just to have that time with myself. It’s a toss up lol

I’m definitely a cat runner but I’m a total dog person. In fact the only other living thing I like to run with is my dog šŸ™‚

Good for you getting back out there. It must be so tough starting over, but you are so strong and I know you will keep at it! Keep gradually adding back the miles and know we are all rooting for you!

Running is like my centering time; it’s my therapy! I always do it alone and that’s the way I like it šŸ™‚ Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’ll be back to the old you in no time, so long as you take good care of yourself.
