So a friend at work gave me crap a little bit ago for all of my “running” related posts on Facebook, so I thought I would show him up by posting some randomness and throw a wrench in the game (here catch!).
My “Thursday friend” (JulieCat) is an amazing cook (and friend might I add… and not just on Thursdays either) and her dinner last night was absolutely delicious! I wanted to share so you can
drool be inspired to make this dish yourself. Here is a picture of the salmon salad that she put together:
It was baked salmon with spring mix, goat cheese, caramelized pecans, strawberries, red onions, tomatoes and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. We paired it with my favorite winery’s (Chronic Cellars) version of wonderful in a glass… Spritz and Giggles (spritz and giggles… get it?). Anyway, it paired deliciously together and was by far the best meal we have every had on our Thursday “date” night.
I am still dreaming about it.
It. was. that. good.
By the way, did you notice that twitter was open on my laptop in the picture… I didn’t stage the picture very well. I must work on that.
Here is a picture of the dessert that she made:
We dubbed this creation Lemon Spritz and Giggles (spritz and giggles, get it?). I won’t tell you how she made it because JulieCat is starting up her own blog and she will share this one with you herself. But I must add, that is was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD!
Before dinner, I came home from work (rushed as usual) to find 2 (count ’em, TWO) boxes from my new BFFs at KT Tape. I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis for the last 6 or so months (if you don’t know what PF it, check out the link above).
So I e-mailed them to see if they wouldn’t mind sending me a sample to try and then blog about. To my surprise…
THEY SENT ME TWO BOXES!! Yeah, this company rocks my socks off.
(literally- check out the next picture)
See! No socks.
The second I had a chance, I taped myself up! I was so excited to try this out!
On a side note-
I ran this morning and my foot was ALREADY feeling better.
Their website is really helpful to show you how to apply the tape to your afflicted areas. There are about a ba-zillion uses for the stuff and you can wear the tape for up to 5 days. I was nervous to shower with the tape on, but after my run I had no choice. To my surprise, the tape stayed put and didn’t peel off like all of the other brands PT tape I have used in the past (I have a tendency to get injured… don’t judge). I will definitely be blogging about KT Tape in the future, but I was so excited about how great it is working AFTER THE FIRST DAY that I wanted to share.
on my way to work this morning I saw this sign
Yeah buddy! The signs for the SLO Marathon are up! I am so excited about the race (T-minus 9 days)… I can’t even explain it. My mother is coming over and so is my sister from San Francisco to cheer me on. I also have another cheering squad- Team Juliphet (yep, I just made that up) also known as my wine drinking buddies!
Okay, so I guess this post was partly about running… whoops.
